Finally...the RACE!

Well, I don't have all the pictures I wanted for this post, but here goes anyway. On August 1-2, I joined 11 others, piling in 2 Suburbans for a 36+ hour 217 mile relay race through the central Oregon Cascade mountain range. It was grueling...hot, high elevations, sick tummies, but it was a lot of fun. I met quite a few new people in my Burb, mostly our team captain's family.

I ran a total of 3 legs, 6.4miles, 5.3 miles (at 3:30 in the morning!), and 5.4 miles. I ended up with two fatty blisters on my feet, gained about 2 pounds from eating chocolate chip cookies and granola bars, and a lot of great memories.

Now, I am onto a Triathalon scheduled for September 6th in Madras. After that, it's break time for a while.

Way to go Dana! Sounds like it was a fun race! I've been sort of aspiring to do a triathalon someday- or more like a mini triathalon given my two bumm knees. It's one of my goals for the day when I'm done having kids! When that day comes I'll need a little advice!
