Making Valentines

This year, for Valentine's day, I have decided to be a little proactive and send out some love. I also decided that it was time to let Bailey start painting. She sees me paint all the time, as I weekly have signs I am painting for customers. And since I am painting, I wanted to give her the chance to do it too.

So we got some a finger painting pack and started our Valentine's yesterday. The fact that she is sitting still and smiling is a miracle in itself.

And then, she went to town. I found that as a perfectionist and a control freak, I was trying to get her to paint how I would paint, and then I realized, "What in the heck am I doing?!?" She needs to paint how SHE wants to. So, with deep refrain, I let her paint how she wanted, globs and all.

She loved smooshing the paint around in her hands, but soon started complaining that her hand was stinging. So we opted fo clean hands and an old paintbrush. She liked using the brush a lot. Ah, a girl after my own heart, eh?

Of course, after we were all done, she had a considerable amount of paint on her tummy, her face, and her hands. So she jumped in the tub before dinner and scrubbed up.

Who are these Valentines for? Wouldn't you like to know. :) You will just have to check your mailbox.
