Grandma Sally's Dress

This is the Bailey Bug in Grandma Sally's baby dress. The dress is nearly 57 years old! (Sorry, Mom, to reveal your age to the entire world). I love this dress...it's pale pink with lace trim, pleats, and beautiful embroidery. Very delicate. Needless to say, we made sure that Bailey was done burping and spitting up before we put her in this dress.

Bubble Head

Bailey continues to love her baths, and even allws me to do silly things like mound up soap bubbles on her head. She's such a sport. I love her eyes in this picture! She is becoming more and more alert as she grows and grows.

Two Peas in a Pod

Here's Josiah (Justin and Frannie Dersham's little boy) with Bailey. I have joked since we found out we were having a little girl, that Bailey would be betrothed to Josiah. Here we have Bailey already putting on the moves. She's a leaner!

"Grandpa and RaRa"

"Grandpa" Jerry

"RaRa" Donna

Jerry Gaidos is a good friend of ours. He is a volunteer police chaplain for Clatsop County and an elder at our church. Jerry and his wife, Roxy, have sort of adopted us as family, and they have taken a fond liking to little Bailey. Above, Jerry is trying to calm down a gassy babe.

"RaRa" Donna is also a good friend of ours. She is my Bible Study leader and was actually there when Bailey was born. She said she counted to 10 at least 100 times while i pushed. Donna doesn't like the name "Grandma" so she affectionally calls herself "RaRa". Since she was one of the first people that saw Bailey born, she loves her very much. Recently, I had RaRa babysit for about an hour, and Bailey decided to show her the power of her lungs and the reserve of tears the entire time! RaRa loved that!

All Smiles

It takes quite a bit of patience to get a good picture of our kiddo smiling. But thankfully, today, I was able to get this shot of her smiling, and looking a bit "spunky".

Time with the Halls...

Sleepy!
Wakey!

Sleepy again!

Last week, Bailey and I visited our friends, Kerry and Deb Hall, who recently moved to our old stomping grounds, Central Oregon. Taking full advantage of the warm weather, we spent the afternoon outside. Deb got her "baby fix" by holding Bailey most of the afternoon, as we watched their daughter, Felicia learn to ride her bike, and son, Isaac stack wood into his black truck.

Sittin' Pretty

Okay, this Bumbo is pretty darn cool! Bailey is only eight weeks old and is able to sit up for a short while in this great little seat.

Sunbathing Beauty

Bailey took a fond liking to taking naps in my parents' backyard. She took a nap every afternoon to the sounds of my mom's pond and our conversations. What a doll.

Today, Bailey got to meet the Leupps, our friends from Oregon who recently moved to Peshtigo, Wisconsin.

Bright Eyes and a Bumbo

Finally! A picture of her bright eyes! She's pretty cute, yes? And today, we tried out her new Bumbo, courtesy of my brother and sister in law. While she is still a little small for the seat, when she is bright eyed and awake, she is able to hold herself up in it quite well. I think this will help strengthen her back and neck muscles, and allow her to sit up early on. Even if she doesn't, it's still pretty cute to watch her in it.

4 generations...

On Tuesday, both my mom and my grandmother got to meet Bailey for the first time. We thought we would take advantage of the moment and snap a four-generation picture. It is pretty incredible to see the women in your life that raised you, holding your own daughter. You know they are loving her the same way they loved you.

Lauren and Bailey

I was able to spend the afternoon with my friend, JuliAnne (see May's post of "Two Pregos") and her baby, Lauren Elise. She is a darling little thing with so much hair. Lauren's hair has so much body and such a huge cowlick (is that how you spell it?) there is no need for mousse and hairspray for it to look good. Lauren is 3 1/2 weeks older than Bailey, born on May 22nd. It is remarkable the difference they look in just those three weeks. Lauren is already sleeping over 10 hours straight through the night. Bailey is at about 7 hours, so I am looking forward the hope of 10 hours in a row for her (and me!)

Could it be?

After pointing my camera at Bailey's face for about 12 minutes, I was able to snap this cute little picture of her smile. Now, I will admit it, she's not smiling consciously...she mostly puts on this beauty when she is falling asleep. But I live for these little smiles, and love each one i can catch.
