Here's some video clips of this past weekend, to go along with the pictures below. Bailey LOVES popcorn. So do I. So on Friday night, after her bubble bath, we popped a batch and watched her favorite Baby Einstein movie, "Baby Wordsworth". On Saturday, we had a barbecue, and you can most definitely hear that midwestern accent of mine when I say, "Bailey, are we having a BARBECUE?" Oh man, I though my accent bit the dust, but no, it is still there. Bailey also learned to dip her cookies from her daddy...she hasn't quite mastered the technique, and we end up fishing her soggy cookie out of her milk regularly. Bailey has also taken a liking to wearing "panties", even though she isn't potty trained. Where did she learn this word, "panties"? Ugh, I swore as a teenage girl that I would never teach my children that word, just like I swore I would never use the combination of my spit and my thumb to wash my kid's face. And on Sunday, we had a picnic down the road from our house. Jeff tried to narrate...but he hates his voice on video, so he's a bit embarrassed about it. Finally, on Sunday night we had our friend Wayne over for dinner. Bailey loves Wayne! And when he had a bowl of ice cream in his lap, Bailey wanted some. He asks, "What do you say?" and she responded by flashing her chest. Where does she learn these things? We teach "please" and "thank you" not stripping!

Pictures from this past weekend
It was a picture-taking sort of a weekend. We had lots of fun, starting with popcorn and a movie on Friday night, a Barbecue for Saturday dinner, a picnic on Sunday afternoon, and dinner with our friend, Wayne on Sunday night. The weather was fabulouso...it was in the 80's! We opened the windows and ushered the winter air out of the house. We opened the sliding door to the deck and let Bailey freely go between the kitchen and the deck (enclosed, so it was safe). Since then, I have started packing away her winter clothes and unpacking her shorts and t-shirts. I love spring!

Bailey's Easter Morning
Here are a few shots from Bailey on Easter (and her mama and daddy too). When will we get tired of taking pictures of her? Probably never...
Fun in the Park
After the Easter egg hunt, we went down to the park to play. We hardly get the chance to go there, since we live 12 miles out of town and both of us work full time. So, even though we were missing a nap, we journeyed down there. The skies were blue, sun was out, and Bailey had a blast. You will notice that in most of Bailey's pictures, she doesn't look all that happy. She was all smiles, except when it came to getting her picture taken. Not a fan, unfortunately.
But the park is a wonderland for little kiddos, with a special section just for the little little ones, like Bailey. My favorite part was the chime thingy at the end of the video...such a creative little element of the playground. Fun to go to the park? Yes. Ask me about taking Bailey home from the park. Nightmare. She was so upset that we had to leave that she cried for a good 10 minutes.
The Great Easter Egg Hunt
Okay, well, maybe not great, but great for moms who are freaked out about their kid getting trampled by 10 year olds our in a park somewhere, while they try to hunt for Easter eggs. Our local supermarket, Ray's Food Place, hosted its 7th annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday morning. The eggs were scattered all over the aisles of the store, with designated aisles for different ages. Knowing that my kiddo was going to be just as confused as all the other "Under 2" kids made me feel a lot better. So, with great anticipation, the egg hunt began, and all the moms of the kids started running. What? Wasn't this for the kids? I distinctly remember this Hispanic woman cheering on her son, but also saying "Andelay! Andelay!" That means, "fast", right? FAST? I am thinking in my head, "Does this 1 1/2 year old really NEED all the chocolate that is in these eggs? Are we in a competition?" After 40 seconds, the hunt was over, and this little cutie pie Hispanic boy had about 35 eggs in his basket. Bailey had about 10. I think the mom felt bad, as she took some of hers and put it in Bailey's bag.
In the end, the Egg Hunt was fun...and Bailey enjoyed a few of her chocolate finds. We took the eggs home and then rehid them for her for Easter morning. The 2nd time through, she began to realize that it was a game and that she was supposed to be looking for all these pretty eggs. I love the innocence of childhood. Wish we could all go back there.

There's no place else that I'd rather be
Bailey has a newfound hiding spot that she just loves...the green plastic bin in her closet. She has learned to proficiently crawl in and out of it, as well as slide her closet doors closed so she's in the dark. She doesn't mind the dark either. She often times will close herself in closets and the pantry. When you open the door, she just closes it again. Interesting. Anyway, she hides her toys in the bin and randomly stuffs multiple blankets in there as well. She claims that she is giving her babies a baby blanket, but if they were babies that breathed, she would be suffocating them. At times, I ask her, "Are you going to take a nap in there?" And she answers, "Yeah..." That'll be the day...I suppose it's not too far off if she starts sleeping in her toddler bed soon. Then she can sleep anywhere she wants.

New camera...same great subject
Well, after 4 months of trying to figure out whether we should get our camera fixed...we determined (along with a camera tech at a local shop) that it would cost more money than we wanted to spend to repair it. So, with the money we were going to use to repair, we got ourselves this new little Canon Power Shot A1000IS (Thanks, Dan Farrar, for recommending it to us). From Walmart, it is a 10 megapixel, 4x optical zoom, image stabilizing gem of a little point and shoot camera. I actually lowered the resolution, because I really don't need to have photos as big as this camera can make them. The camera was only $152.00 and included in the deal was a 2G picture card. Not bad. And check out the video quality...I am completely shocked at how good the quality is...very clear, crisp, not all pixelated and blurry.
So now, we are back to taking pictures of the kiddo...always growing, saying new things. Nothing amazingly monumental about what is going on in the video, but it gives you an idea of her ever-growing vocabulary. She continues to amaze us and is a complete joy, even through the beginnings of the terrible twos. Friends comment on the fact that she is just like her mama...sassy, opinionated, and ready to speak her mind. Good girl, Bailey. Good girl.
